Born in 1947 in Cetinje, Montenegro. He finished high school in Belgrade. He enrolled at the Faculty of Philosophy (Department of Sociology), where he graduated in 1969/70. year . He successfully completed the Ph.D dissertation on February 15, 1978. Mentor of the dissertation was famous prof. Dr. Rudi Supek.
From 1984 to 1990 he served as Head of the Department for Prevention, Educational Work and Publishing. During this time, he made several programs aimed at different categories of population at risk of developing addiction illness which can have a negative impacts on workplace.
Since 1990, he has worked in the Scientific Research Department of the Institute as a senior scientific associate, and from 1993 to 1996, he was a scientific adviser. From 1988 to 1996 he was the editor-in-chief of the Yugoslav magazine Alcoholism and editor of the professional journal "Bulletin of Cured Alcoholics of Serbia" from 1986 to 1996.
School 1983/84. In the year he was elected Assistant Professor for subjects of socio-political theory and sociology of politics at the Faculty of Philosophy in Prishtina. These two subjects were taught until the end of the 1986/87 school year. In 1987, when he took the six-semester course of general sociology and taught this subject until 1992.
From School 1983/84.,he was selected as assistant professor for the subject of sociology of religion at the Faculty of Philosophy in Niš, and later as an associate professor for the subject of social pathology. He worked at this Faculty until 1991.
Since 1992/93. he lectured social pathology at the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Niksic, and since 1996 he has been a full professor. Since 1996, he has been teaching the subject of family sociology at this Faculty, and social demography. From 2001 to 2005 he taught students of history and geography in general sociology at this Faculty.Since 2005 he has taught students at University of Donja Gorica,Montenegro.
From 1971 until today he has published 165 scientific and professional papers and 20 monographs.
