Elodie Douarin's research focuses on 3 themes:

(i) the non-economic (i.e. in terms of values and beliefs) consequences of economic change,

(ii) the importance of values and culture in our understanding of economic outcomes and

(iii) a broad reflection on the links between different economics sub-fields or schools of thought.

Her work very explicitly recognises contributions from other disciplines including cultural psychology, development studies or political sciences, in line with the critical area studies tradition of SSEES.
