My primary research interests are in the fields of development economics and environmental economics. Part of my research has been on evaluating the costs of climate change in terms of higher levels of ambient air pollutants. More recently, I have been working on applied microeconomics issues surrounding gender, women empowerment, interpersonal violence against women, child health, and economics of the household in a developing country context using empirical methods.
I completed my PhD in Economics from Cornell University in New York. I am currently an Assistant Professor of Economics at Zayed University, Dubai which is one of the federal universities in the United Arab Emirates. I teach courses on Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and have earlier also taught courses on Statistical Methods, Public Economics and Game Theory.
