Born in Belgrade, she was educated by the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade, where she got her PhD in 1987. Afterwards, she continued her advanced studies in the Netherlands, the USA and Russia, where she specialized in 1988 at Lomonosow University at the multidisciplinary studies department. She is Editor-in-Chief of peer-reviewed journals: Economic Analysis, Women's Entrepreneurship and Education; Journal of Entrepreneurship and Business Resilience; and International Review. Since 2009 she is a head of the Center of Macroeconomic Research of the Institute of Economic Sciences, Belgrade. In addition, she is the head of Research and Development Center, Faculty of Business Economics and Entrepreneurship, Belgrade. In 2016, she was elected to the National Council for Science, Republic of Serbia, where she alone represents economic sciences in the country. Before her election to the National Council for Science, she was a member of the Committee for Social Sciences, Ministry of Science and Education, Republic of Serbia. In 2017 she was awarded "for outstanding contributions in science" with the “Tomislav Popovic” award by the Institute of Economic Sciences. In 2018, she got the award for the highest contribution in science and entrepreneurship promotion Kapetan Misa Anastasiejvic by University of Belgrade and University of Novi Sad, Serbia. She is an elected member of the Academia Europaea (since 2012) and a member of its Section Committee Economics, Business and Management Sciences (since 2016).
