Sen Xue is an associate professor at the Institute for Economic and Social Research, Jinan University (China). He also serves as an associate editor of the Journal of Population Economics, a fellow of GLO and a non-residential fellow at the Centre for Development Economics and Sustainability, Monash University.

Before joining Jinan University, he received his PhD from the Australian National University and worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Australian National University. His research interests include labour economics, development economics and population economics. He is particularly interested in issues related to China. He also devoted a substantial amount of time to survey data collection.
