I'm a Development Economist and my research lies at the intersection of Labour and Gender where I estimate the effect of gender-blind policies around asset ownership and income on women's empowerment in South Asia. The second focus of my research is around Climate Change and Development. I test the political and gender implications of extreme weather events in India and Sub-Saharan Africa, respectively.
My Ph.D. dissertation uses a combination of survey, administrative and Earth observation data to test economic theories and outcomes for socially vulnerable groups. Previously, I helped evaluate a welfare program for maternal and child health and nutrition in India.
