As an Applied Microeconomist, my primary field of research is at the intersection of Development and Labour Economics with a focus on Gender. As part of this agenda, I investigate women’s financial inclusion, intrahousehold agency and labor force participation in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. My second area of research includes questions around weather shocks and Development.
I utilize experimental and quasi-experimental methods in my research and have acquired competitive funding for field-based projects. As a research analyst with the International Food Policy Research Institute, I helped evaluate a welfare program for maternal and child health and nutrition funded by the World Bank in India.
I was a postdoctoral research associate at the Centre for Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at Brown University. I was awarded a Ph.D. in Applied Economics and Management by Cornell University.
