I am Emre Sari, a health economist and a senior researcher at NORCE, and I hold a PhD in economics from UiT at the Arctic University of Norway. My academic and research endeavors are centered around the complex interactions between social inequalities and health, approached through multidisciplinary methods. My PhD thesis, titled "Grandparents Matter: Multigenerational Transmission of Health and Health Behaviors," blends health economics, sociology, and psychology. During my PhD program, I was a Visiting PhD Candidate at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from May 2019 to October 2021. I completed my core PhD courses in the International Doctoral Courses in Health Economics and Policy offered by the Swiss Society of Health Economics (sggö).

My research, published in high-impact journals such as Social Science & Medicine, Emerging Markets Review, Public Health, and Economics & Human Biology, covers a diverse array of topics. These include market dynamics, mental health, and social inequalities in health. Also, I earned the Nansen Early Career Award in 2021 during the Arctic Frontiers Science Conference for my "Neighbourhood Health Behavior Effects on Body Mass Index" study.
