Olga Popova is a Senior Researcher (with tenure) in the Department of Economics at the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS, Regensburg). She is also a Research Associate at CERGE-EI, a joint workplace of Charles University and the Czech Academy of Sciences. Dr. Popova is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Population Economics, Comparative Southeast European Studies, and the Journal of Happiness Studies. She also acts as the GLO Cluster Lead for "Religion" and as a Section Editor “Religion” of the forthcoming Springer Nature Handbook “Labor, Human Resources and Population Economics”. Her research interests are health and environmental economics, economic history, regional and individual inequalities, quality of life, applied microeconomics, and comparative economic analysis. Her research has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including Journal of Public Economics, Economic Inquiry, Small Business Economics, Journal of Comparative Economics, European Journal of Political Economy, and Ecological Economics.
